Ray County Civil and Criminal Courts
The second-floor civil/probate office processes civil cases, small claims, rent and possession, child support, dissolution, adult order of protection, child order of protection, and probate. This is the better place to call for divorce decree copies, estate records, guardianship files, protection order filing questions, and small-claims case routing. The Ray County fee schedule separates domestic civil cases, non-domestic civil cases, associate cases, small claims, probate filings, and protection orders, so costs can differ by case type.
The third-floor criminal/traffic office processes all traffic and criminal cases. That office is the starting point for felony or misdemeanor case records, traffic tickets in the circuit court system, bond entries, warrant returns, court dates, and criminal dispositions. DWI, driving while revoked, leaving the scene, and other serious traffic matters may overlap with criminal records because the same local office handles criminal and traffic processing.
For public online access, the central path is Missouri Case.net. Case.net can show case numbers, parties, attorneys, docket entries, hearings, charges, dispositions, judgments, and some public documents. It may not show sealed, juvenile, adoption, expunged, confidential, paper-only, or older records in ordinary public view.
Ray County Lower Courts
Missouri's circuit court structure includes associate circuit, municipal, small claims, probate, family, juvenile, criminal, civil, and other divisions. Ray County's official court information gives a direct number for Richmond Municipal Court, which matters for local ordinance and municipal traffic tickets. A ticket issued under a city ordinance may not follow the same payment or contest route as a state traffic case filed in Ray County Circuit Court.
Juvenile contact appears in the courthouse directory, but juvenile court records are restricted under RSMo 211.321. That means a juvenile case should not be treated like an ordinary public civil or criminal docket. Adoption records and some protection order details can also be restricted or redacted.
Ray County Appeals and Federal Court
Appeals from Ray County trial-court judgments usually move through Missouri's appellate system. Ray County is in the region served by the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District, with the Supreme Court of Missouri serving as the court of last resort and handling statewide final review and limited direct appeals.
